Welcome to Music!

with Mrs. Baughman

Music is a universal language that is such a vital role in all of our lives.  I am passionate about sharing my love of music with children, and helping them to experience the many fun ways to listen, move, create and perform music.  I have been teaching elementary music for over 20 years, but my favorite place to teach is definitely at Pattie Elementary!  I studied music at James Madison University, earning both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Music Education.  When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children.  We love to go for bike rides, hikes, and spend time at the pool and beach.

Until we can be together again at Pattie, be sure to check out my virtual classroom.  Click the link below to access the room.  Click around the classroom to find various music activities.  I will continue to expand and update the classroom, so be sure to come back and visit soon!

School Closing Info:  Music at Home

Until we are able to be together at Pattie again, there are ways that you can continue to enjoy and learn about music at home.  Here are some ideas to keep music a part of your routine:

1. Check out Mrs. Baughman's FlipGrid lessons for simple lessons to try at home.  Search for flipgrid.com/musicathome to see all of the lessons available.  Students will need to log in using their Office 365 account.

2.  On this webpage, you will find links to websites which are fun to explore and play at home.  Some will provide a virtual music experience for you, while other sites have games and music trivia.

3.  Subscribe or visit Mrs. Baughman on Twitter @pattieesmusic to stay connected.  You can also reach me at baughmax@pwcs.edu.
