Welcome to Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) offers a wide variety of rigorous and engaging Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs designed to improve academic and technical understanding, offer leadership opportunities, and deliver instruction through realistic, hands-on applications. CTE instruction demonstrates the relevance and purpose in learning as students prepare for post-secondary experiences, whether they plan to enter the workforce directly, seek additional training, or enroll in a post-secondary institution. Please use the left column to navigate the available CTE programs that PWCS offers including both high school and middle school programs, certifications and industry credential results, and the CTE staff.


Would you like to try a FREE gaming or programming class?

In a partnership with the George Mason University's Mason Game and Technology Academy (MGTA), PWCS is offering PWCS students a tuition-free MGTA course during the fall semester. 

The following classes will be available:

  • Game Design with Roblox
  • Game Design with Unity & C#
  • Introduction to Python for Machine-Learning/AI
  • Java Programming

Classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.* with a lunch break on the following dates:

  • October 24, 31
  • November 7, 14, 21 (no classes the week of Thanksgiving)
  • December 5, 12

*The October 24 class will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Space in these classes will be limited. All classes will be held virtually. Tuition for students selected will be funded by the Advancing Computer Science Education grant.  Please use this form to apply for one of these classes. (Not all students that apply will be selected. Selected students will be notified via email).  Responses are due by 10/2/20 to be considered.
