Enrichment Opportunities for Grades 4 and 5
The purpose of this page is to highlight enrichment opportunities for students in 4th and 5th grade. These opportunities are optional and meant to serve as a resource. There will be opportunities for students to share their work via email or on Zoom.
This page will be updated weekly with new material each Monday.
The Passion Project and Hands on Equations are standing recommendations.
Each week, I will highlight a new enrichment activity, math game/challenge, and website to explore.
Monthly, I will provide featured choice menus.
Previous materials will be published in the Archives.
One possible way to use this site is to select an activity for each day. Another option could be to select one or two activities a week. For example, your student may want to just work on a passion project. Or an example schedule may look like this:
Mon: Math Game or Hands On Equations
Tues: Creative Writing Prompt
Wed: Explore
Thurs: Activity from Reading Choice Menu
Fri: STEAM Challenge
If you wish to explore different or additional options, check out the Continuity of Learning Documents or Recommended Websites. Also, feel free to contact me with any questions or requests for specific support.

PASSION PROJECT
This is my number 1 recommendation! You have already put time and thought into a Passion Project. If you are still interested in your topic, I recommend you continue it. You may need to make adjustments to your final product idea based on our current limitations.
Just not that into your original idea? You could start a new passion project. Take this time to research and create a project that appeals to your specific interests.
Also, there is a lot of need in our communities based on our current situation. Is there something you could do that would combine your interests and serve your community? Some ideas may include:
1. Making masks
2. A thank you letter campaign to send to health care providers on the front line
3. Making cards, videos, or crafts for elderly people in your community
I can conference with you to assist with ideas, next steps, or feedback. Just contact me via email at [email protected], and we can set up a conference time.
